SHABBAT
Every Friday, when the sun sets, a sacred day enters – Shabbat. Throughout the ages, Shabbat has been a central feature in the Jewish way of life. It serves as an anchor of sorts, a day that brings to a halt the weekly matters and serves to ground us, once again, before embarking on the week ahead.
At the end of Shabbat, to the light of a blazing candle and three sparkling stars, we indulge in the uplifting scents of cloves coupled with a heartfelt wish for a good week – Shavuah Tov! Armed with renewed hope we begin the new week, knowing that, as always, Shabbat awaits at its end.
JEWISH HOLIDAYS
It’s time. The sun is about to set and a brand-new holiday is ready for its once-in-a-year entrance. The sequence of Jewish holidays matches an ancient rhythm, one that has been perpetuated for ages yet somehow seems so personal.
This year, once again, this cyclical pattern is about to emerge. Time for cherished traditions to be rediscovered. Time for memories & joyful moments. Time for enticing aromas & flavorful treats. Kosher Create invites you to join in. It’s time.
THE SEVEN SPECIES
The Torah, the Jewish Bible, mentions seven worthy species of plants known as Shiv’at HaMinim (Deuteronomy 8:8). Notable for both their supreme taste and aesthetic appearance, these seven species play a significant role in Jewish tradition and in the practice of Jewish Holidays.
The seven species are a prevalent theme in Jewish art and Judaica artifacts. Their unique shape and meaning has captured the eye and hearts of artists for centuries.
