Mediterranean Savory Bulgur

Equipment
- Nonstick Frying Pan (with cover)
- Sifter
Ingredients
- 1 cup Bulgur
- 1 cup Finely Diced Onions
- 2 tbsp Olive Oil
- 1 tsp Salt (adjust to taste or health requirement)
- 1 tbsp Sweet Paprika
- 1/4 tsp Ground Black Pepper
- 2 cups Water
Instructions
- Rinse the bulgur in a sifter with water. Drain and set aside.
- In a non-stick frying pan, sauté the finely diced onions in olive oil with the pan covered. Stir from time to time. This brings out the natural juices of the onions with less use of oil.
- After 5 minutes uncover and continue to sauté until golden brown.
- Add the bulgur, mix with the onions and continue to sauté for 3 minutes. Stir from time to time.
- Add the salt and spices to the bulgur.
- Mix well.
- Add the water and bring to a boil.
- Cover the pot, lower the heat and let simmer for 15 minutes.
- Let the bulgur rest for several minutes.
