Wholegrain Breaded Chicken
This easy Wholegrain Breaded Chicken Recipe uses wholegrain spelt breadcrumbs and only two tablespoons of olive oil. Follow the step-by-step instructions to create tender chicken with a yummy crispy coating. Enjoy!
Equipment
- 1 Large Baking Pan
- 1 Baking Sheet
- 2 Large Bowls
Ingredients
- 8 Chicken Drumsticks
- 1/2 cup Wholegrain Spelt Breadcrumbs
- 1 Egg
- 1 tbsp Sweet Paprika
- 1 tbsp Granulated Garlic (spice)
- 1/4 tsp Ground Black Pepper
- 2 tbsp Olive Oil (1 tbsp spread on the baking sheet, 1 tbsp sprinkled on the drumsticks)
Instructions
Drumstick Prep
- Remove the drumstick skin and trim the fat.
- Rinse and drain well.
Coating The Drumsticks
- Place the drumsticks into a large dish and sprinkle with the spices.
- Mix the drumsticks with the spices until evenly distributed.
- Add the egg and mix well.
- Dip each drumstick into the breadcrumbs covering it on all sides.
Baking the Drumsticks
- Spread 1 tablespoon of olive oil onto a baking sheet in a large baking pan.
- Place the breaded drumsticks on the pan leaving space between them.
- Drizzle 1 tablespoon of olive oil on top of the drumsticks and bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 Celsius) for an hour or until golden brown.
Notes
Can be eaten hot or cold.
Great for a picnic.
