  • Coffee-Spice Grinder (for grinding 1/4 cup of sesame seeds)
  • Electric Mixer
  • Round Baking Pan Or Round Bunt Pan (9 inches – 23 centimeters circumference)

Ingredients
  

Sesame Cake

  • 3 Eggs
  • 3/4 cup Raw Tahini
  • 1/2 cup Honey
  • 1 tsp Pure Vanilla Extract
  • 1 cup Applesauce (without sugar or preservatives)
  • 1 cup Wholegrain Spelt Flour (sifted)
  • 1/2 cup Oat Flour
  • 1/2 cup Sesame Seed Flour (grind 1/4 cup of sesame seeds in coffee/spice grinder)
  • 2 tsp Baking Soda
  • 1/8 tsp Salt

Tahini Cocoa Glaze (the link to the recipe is at the bottom of the post, for this cake, use the quantities as listed below)

  • 6 tbsp Raw Tahini
  • 6 tbsp Water
  • 3/4 cup Honey
  • 6 tbsp Cocoa Powder

Instructions
 

Prepare The Tahini Cocoa Glaze

  • Use the link at the bottom of the post to get to the recipe. For this this cake, you'll need a recipe and a half. Use the quantities on the ingredient list above.
  • Set aside.

Prepare The Sesame Cake

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius).

  • Whisk the eggs and raw tahini in an electric mixer until well blended.
  • Add the honey and vanilla and continue to whisk for another minute.
  • Add the applesauce and blend well.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients and whisk until well blended.
  • Pour the batter into the baking pan.
  • Swirl ¼ cup of the pre-prepared glaze into the batter. The rest will be used for the cake's glaze topping.

  • Bake for 40 minutes or until golden.
