Braised Chicken & Chickpeas
Equipment
- Nonstick Frying Pan Or Wide Pot With Cover
- Nonstick Baking Pan (medium size)
- Large Bowl
- Baking Sheet
Ingredients
- 8 Chicken Drumsticks (remove skin & trim fat)
- 1 1/2 cups Precooked Chickpeas (click the link at the bottom of the recipe for the instructions to make-your-own cooked chickpeas)
- 2 tbsp Olive Oil
- 1 tbsp Sweet Paprika
- 1 tbsp Granulated Garlic (spice)
- 1 tsp Turmeric (spice)
- 1/4 tsp Black Pepper
- Fresh Parsley (diced – for garnishing)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix 2 tablespoons of olive oil with the prepared drumsticks distributing evenly.
- Place the drumsticks into a nonstick frying pan.
- Sauté the drumsticks on all sides until golden brown.
- Add the spices and distribute well.
- Cover the pot and simmer for 45 minutes turning the drumsticks from time to time.
- Add the pre-prepared cooked chickpeas, and gently mix with the chicken and spices.
- Simmer for another 15 minutes.
- Garnish with chopped fresh parsley.
