Braised Chicken & Chickpeas

Follow this easy gluten-free Braised Chicken & Chickpeas Recipe to braise chicken drumsticks with choice spices. Add wholesome chickpeas to complete the delicious dish. A healthy Mediterranean treat!

- 8 Chicken Drumsticks (remove skin & trim fat)
- 1 1/2 cups Precooked Chickpeas (click the link at the bottom of the recipe for the instructions to make-your-own cooked chickpeas)
- 2 tbsp Olive Oil
- 1 tbsp Sweet Paprika
- 1 tbsp Granulated Garlic (spice)
- 1 tsp Turmeric (spice)
- 1/4 tsp Black Pepper
- Fresh Parsley (diced - for garnishing)
In a large bowl, mix 2 tablespoons of olive oil with the prepared drumsticks distributing evenly.
Place the drumsticks into a nonstick frying pan.
Sauté the drumsticks on all sides until golden brown.
Add the spices and distribute well.
Cover the pot and simmer for 45 minutes turning the drumsticks from time to time.
Add the pre-prepared cooked chickpeas, and gently mix with the chicken and spices.
Simmer for another 15 minutes.
Garnish with chopped fresh parsley.
