Equipment
- 3 Flat Bowls
- 1 Large Baking Pan
- 1 Large Baking Sheet
Ingredients
- 8 Chicken Breasts – Thinly Sliced (trim the fat)
- 1 Egg (whisked)
- 1/2 cup Wholegrain Breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup Wholegrain Spelt Flour
- 1/2 cup Sesame Seeds
- 1 tbsp Sweet Paprika
- 1 tbsp Granulated Garlic (spice)
- 1/4 tsp Ground Black Pepper
- 3 tbsp Olive Oil
Instructions
Preheat The Oven & Gather The Ingredients
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius).
- Trim the fat from the thinly sliced chicken breasts. Whisk the eggs. And gather the rest of the ingredients.
Spicing the Chicken
- Add the spices to the chicken breasts and mix well, distributing on all parts.
Coating the Chicken
- Prepare 3 bowls: wholegrain spelt flour, egg (whisked), wholegrain breadcrumbs & sesame mixture (mix breadcrumbs with sesame seeds)
- Place each piece of chicken, face down, onto the spelt flour, turn and coat the other side.
- Move on to place the chicken, face down, into the beaten egg, turn and coat the other side.
- Lastly, place the chicken, face down, onto the breadcrumb & sesame mixture, turn and coat the other side.
- Repeat this process until all 8 pieces of chicken are coated.
Baking The Schnitzel
- Place a large baking sheet in a baking pan and distribute 1 tablespoon of olive oil on the sheet.
- Place the schnitzel pieces on the baking sheet. Sprinkle 2 tablespoons of olive oil on all the pieces.
- Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
