  • Coffee-Spice Grinder
  • Electric Mixer
  • Nonstick Baking Pan (9 by 10 inches – 23 by 25 centimeters)

Ingredients
  

  • 3 cups Sesame Seeds (to be toasted)
  • 1/2 cup Ground Sesame Seeds (measure ¼ cup of sesame seeds and grind them in a coffee-spice grinder – it should yield ½ cup of ground sesame)
  • 1/2 cup Raw Tahini
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 tsp Pure Vanilla Extract
  • 1/4 cup Water
  • 3/4 cup Honey
  • 1 cup Wholegrain Spelt Flour (sifted)
  • 1 1/2 tsp Baking Soda

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius).

  • Toast 3 cups of sesame seeds in a nonstick frying pan until golden brown. Keep watch and stir often to prevent burning. Set aside and let cool.
    Toasted Sesame Seeds In Pan.
  • Grind 1/4 cup of sesame seeds in a coffee-spice grinder. It should yield ½ cup of ground sesame. Set aside.
  • Whisk the tahini and eggs until fluffy.
  • Add the vanilla, water and honey. Whisk until well blended.
  • Gradually add the sifted spelt flour, ground sesame and baking soda. Blend well.
  • Add the 3 cups of pre-prepared toasted sesame seeds and blend well.
  • Pour into the baking pan. Spread the batter evenly.
    Wholegrain Sesame Honey Bars Dough In Pan.
  • Bake for 20 minutes or until golden. Let cool.
  • Cut lines lengthwise and widthwise to create squares.

  • Carefully remove from pan.
